“Saved by a Faith that Works” – 2/11/17 broadcast

Well, we’re
gonna begin our study portion for
today’s broadcast. And I wanna start with
asking a question. Have you ever heard this
idea of once saved, always saved? Have you ever heard
of that before? In other words, people
typically baptist, well for the most part. Not all Baptists believe
this, but that once you have made that confession
of faith that the Messiah, you know died for your
sins and that you receive him and all of that. There is really nothing
you could do that would cause you to lose
your salvation. There is no sin to
[inaudible 0:00:53]. Nothing that would cause
you to fall out of favor with him. And so now, when you
actually press it further and you ask, you know what
someone just … You know they made the confession
but then they went out and just you know lived the
life of sin and didn’t really care one
way or the other. You know, rape, rob, steal
and whatever and they always come back with
the same response. Most of the time they’ll
say, ” oh well he was never saved,
to begin with”. So it’s kind of like okay
lets’ go around in circles over this whole topic, But
you know, most people, the ley men. Well, they really
understand it. Well, not most
people but a lot. Understand that in a sense
that you know once you’ve made that confession,
it doesn’t really matter whether you sin
or you didn’t sin. You know we all sin
anyway, you know it doesn’t really matter
one way or the other. This is what I often hear. You know since your own
works don’t save us whats the point of even trying
to do good works because you know; it’s not really
the thing that saves you anyway. And that the ideas that
are kind of floating around. I got into a long email
discussion with a man, you know it doesn’t matter
what verse I quoted to him, he would still come
back with, you know faith alone and messiah
alone and that’s it. Nothing added you know. adnSo we went back and forth
and nausium. Anyway, I want to look
at the totality here of scripture and try to
address that question. What is the relationship
between faith and works? Some say “well faith is
one ore in a row boat and works is the oar and you
need both working together in order to move forward. If it’s just one oar
working you go in circles and when the other ore is
working you still go in circles.” And so
that’s the mentality. That’s the mentality I had
for a lot of years, but as I began to study deeper
and think deeper into this, I realized that’s
not really it either. So, let’s start with the
basics here as far as who are going to be the ones
who will inherit eternal life? Who are the ones that are
not gonna be inheriting eternal life? This is an
important question. What we’re gonna find as
we delve deeper into this topic, I think what we’re
going to find is that we are saved by a
faith that works. Saved by a faith
that works. Works in more ways than
one, kind of a double usage of the word there. So let’s look at it here
in Daniel Chapter 12 verse 2 it saysthat many of
those who sleep in the
dust of the earth shall
awake some to everlasting
life, some to shame and
everlasting contempt.
Those who are wise shall
shine like the brightness
of the firmament. And those who turn many
to righteousness like the
stars forever and ever.So we see here a promise
is given for those who
turned many to
righteousness and those
who are wise.Shining like… You know
this isthe real starsright here. The ones who are doing and
teaching the things that Yahushua commands. So, we don’t wanna be the
ones who are experiencing shame, and everlasting
contempt, right? We wanna be wise, so
we need wisdom, we need Yahweh’s wisdom. And Messiah said something
about those who do and teach the commands will be
the ones who will be great in the kingdom of heaven. So that my goal is to not
just teach them but to do them myself and live
them out myself. So that I might be called
great in the kingdom of heaven. So what’s required there? What’s required for us
to obtain this status of righteousness? That’s the big
question mark. A lot of people would put
on is. It’s really a good thing a
man doesn’t get to decide and who is lost. I tell you what? Because there is so
much confusion on this. And I’m glad Yahweh is the
one doing the job because if a man did it we would
totally mess it all up. So I don’t really listen
to what man says, you know as far as this. I want to put emphasis on
what Yahweh says in the scriptures and try to
come to an acceptable and answer that really makes
a lot of sense biblically and fits with the entire
tier of his word from Genesis to Revelation. Now if you were to watch
someone’s life that was a believer in Messiah
and they were giving everything they could,
every gumption of their being to show their love
to their neighbor, to honor their parents, to
keep their hearts and their minds pure. And their whole life was
wrapped up into giving to the poor and reaching out
to the disadvantaged and healing the broken hearts. Almost anyone will look at
that person and say That’s an honorable life, that
man right there is living the life of Messiah. Now, that same person he
is a believer in Messiah and he’s doing all he can
to show Yahweh how much he is loved. And so they’re gonna honor
him and they’re careful to not defile the
holy Sabbath. They’re careful to keep
their bodies the temple of the Holy Spirit cleans by
not eating things that are unclean. And we even go into the
ingredients maybe and check to make sure
nothing has pork in it. And they faithfully did
their duty of keeping his feast days and refuse
to work on Yahweh’s holy days. Now many people will look
at that person’s life and say one word,” legalist”. You’re trying to be saved
by works through all of that law keeping. Now wait a minute, the
other guy that we talked about, you know honoring
your parents, keeping their hearts and minds
pure, their whole life being wrapped up into
giving to the poor. No one called that
man a legalist. Then why is it these
aspects of disobedience all of a sudden that man
is considered to be a legalist? Because he’s doing these
other commands that maybe most people in this
world don’t keep? So, for instance, we keep
the Sabbath, a lot of people for that reason
alone may say “you’re a Judaize, you’re trying
to earn your salvation because you keep the
Sabbath day” or “you tell me I have to.” You’re trying to earn your
salvation; ever heard that verse or someone saying
they’re trying to do that before? If I was to say “well I
had to keep the Sabbath because my father told me
to, my father in heaven told me to”. They would say I’m trying
to earn my salvation. Well, why is there a
different viewpoint when someone says “well I
really want to honor my parents because
Yahweh told me to”? No one ever
complains about that. Or “I really want to
refrain from committing adultery because I know
Yahweh to and I want to love my wife, I want
to love her.” No one complains about that. But for some reason when
you into a different command, commandment
number four of the Ten Commandments;
Sabbath keeping. And you try to do that and
be pure with that and be righteous with that in
terms of your conduct, and then all of a sudden
you’re a legalist. Do you see how that
doesn’t make any sense with the mentality that’s
being provided here to us? I mean when Yahweh gave
the Israelites the Torah when he gave them the
laws; when he gave them that was he trying to
make them into a bunch of legalists? To focus on the
outside only? I mean was he trying to
tie them up in a web of legalism, so that they
would be in bondage for the next 1500 years? Is that what he wanted, to
put them in this kind of web of bondage? No, but that’s what they
accuse us of doing the minute we start doing
something that they are not familiar with. And so, I want to examine
this whole thing in light of scripture. I don’t wanna be among
those who are trying to earn their salvation
that’s for sure, I can’t bear it. I don’t want to be the
one saying on the Day of Judgment, “O Yahweh you
owe me salvation because I did this and I did
this and I did that. I don’t wanna be like that
because he is going to be looking at us and
saying ” no buddy, your righteousness is not
gonna be good enough”. You’re righteousness isn’t
gonna cut it, it’s not good enough. So I want to examine this
and hopefully, give you some things that maybe you
hadn’t thought of before or noticed before. Or if I don’t do that
hopefully bolster your current understanding and
be able to more adequately defend it. So, I wanna point out
something because there is this mindset that as soon
as you start doing Old Testament stuff there is
like this polarization going on between the Old
Testament and the New Testament. Almost like you’ve got
the Old Testament in one corner and the New
Testament in the other and you know they’re kind of
duking it out in some kind of prize fight
or something. It’s not the way
scripture is. They’re not at odds
with each other. You know Marcion and early
2nd century Christian talked that the Elohim or
God or Mighty One of the Old Testament was
completely different one than the one that’s
in the New Testament. Now he was considered
to be a heretic probably because of that, but his
mentality kind of crept into the faith I think. Because his idea was that
well this Jesus guy came along and fixed everything
and calmed down the old God down and he became
a new God or maybe a different God
or something. That’s the impression
sometimes you get when you talk to someone about the
necessity for us to us to obey all of the words
of Yahweh, not just scriptures that are
in the New Testament. You know they act like
he’s some wrathful, you know Jehovah, God ready
to strike you down for the slightest infraction
in the Old Testament. And the New Testament came
along, you know and this Jesus figure kind of
calmed him down now he is more like grandpa. He’s sort of toned down
and not so strict, you know. And to me it’s sick. I mean that’s the
mentality that I kind of run into sometimes. So, I don’t think, I mean,
anyone actually says that. I mean says and
believes that. But that’s the
impression I’m left with. With the mentality with
which they’re approaching the Old Testament. So, I wanna show you
something about the Old Testament. Scripture actually says in
the Old Testament Exodus 34 verse 6, it says, and
Yahweh passed before him before Moshe. And proclaimed “Yahweh,
Yahweh Elohim, merciful and gracious,
long-suffering and abounding in
goodness and truth”. Ah, then along comes the
New Testament, Revelation 2:23 I will kill her
children with death; and
all the congregations
shall know that I am He
who searches the minds and
hearts, And I will give to
each one of you
according to your works”.
Sounds like an Old
Testament scripture doesn’t it. Its New Testament,
this is after Yahushua resurrection. His letter to the
congregations this is one of those letters
he writes. Now, there is no
Jekyll -Hyde here. I mean it’s the same
Elohim in both Old Testament and
New Testament. Yahweh feels the same
about sin 35000 years ago as he does today. There is no difference; he
feels the same way about it. He’s also displeased with
sin in the camp, right? Remember when Paul said,
those who handle the body and blood of Messiah
unworthy some of them sleep, some of them are
sick and he will even kill people who do that. So Yahushua can judge just
as quickly and in a snap way, you’re out of here. I mean in the New
Testament church era it’s the same Elohim. It’s just that now we
understand the mechanism through which we
receive salvation. And that’s through
Yahushua dying on a tree for us. It’s the same
Elohim though. They did not understand
that completely in the so-called Old
Testament time period. They saw you know a little
bit of it, what Messiah was gonna do, but they did
not have the full clarity as to what was
gonna happen. It was all a bit of a
blurry picture, but we now have that clarity,
it’s happened. You know the future always
tends to be pretty blurry to us men. But you know we look
through this glass dimly at our future and should
we remain faithful we will see more clearly. But there is no
distinction between how Yahweh feels about sin
in what’s called Old Testament than how he
feels about it today. It’s the same idea. So we need to examine at
length, where he actually would draw a line between
someone trying to be saved by their own works and
someone not trying to be saved by their own works,
but making an effort to be righteous and holy
before him out of love. And that’s an
important distinction. Because everybody,
everyone has sinned and fallen short of the
glory of Elohim. And now we’re created in
his image and his glory, we’ve all fallen short of
his glory and that image because we’ve sinned,
we’ve failed to love. Yahweh is a perfect,
loving entity and we’re not being an accurate
reflection of him if we’re not walking in love. So how can we be redeemed
from this condition where we failed to reflect his
glory, where we failed to reflect his image? Some just say once
you believe in Messiah everything will be okay. Everything will be great. But there is another
scripture we gotta be aware of. Another scripture we
gotta be aware of. There is an amount of
works involved in faith. Faith without works
is dead, right? People will tell you well
we’re not saved by our works; it’s only through
Messiah that you are saved. That’s very true,
we’re saved by faith. But with that is a very
subtle doctrine, “Oh that means you don’t have to
be concerned at all about your works. After all, since you’re
not saved by your works what’s the point in having
good works, to begin with? Except oh well, you know
to show him how much you love him and all of that. But it doesn’t really
matter that much.” To what benefit would we concern
ourselves to have any desire for good works at
all, if we’re not saved by our good works? Legitimate question and
that’s where a lot of confusion exists. Some will believe since we
are not saved by works you just try a little bit
here, a little bit there. Recognize you’re saved by
grace not by your works anyway and you don’t have
to put all that kind of effort into it, it’s okay. If you try to put too much
effort into it then you’re trying to be saved
by your works. What does the
scripture say? What does the
scripture say? Romans 9 verse 30 Paul
makes a distinction he says, what shall
we say then?
Gentiles who did not
pursue righteousness have
attained to righteousness
even the righteousness of
faith.“But Israel, pursuing the
law of righteousness has
not attained to the law
of righteousness.”
They looked for it, they
couldn’t find it. Why couldn’t they find it? What was the problem? Look at that, I mean look
at Gentiles you know, they’re all about you know
“who cares, live how you want “. And then there is the Jews
they are all about, ” we gotta be righteous,
you know let’s walk in righteousness. Let’s do the right thing,
let’s keep these laws and all of that” And even add
a bunch of laws on top it just in case. You know, don’t wanna be
missing anything here. And so they are
looking for the law of righteousness and they
are not finding it. And along comes these
gentiles who never worry are not even
looking for it. And all of a
sudden they got it. It’s like how
did this happen? Was it because you know
the Jews were trying to keep that old law and
somehow make it by that old law. And so Yahweh had to come
in and fix things because it was all messed up. By this law, he gave you
know because you know . . . No, that’s not
how it works. It’s not like
Yahweh made a mistake. You know. And so he had to come
along and fix it later on, that doesn’t
make any sense. Yahweh doesn’t make
mistakes, does he? Surely he doesn’t
make mistakes. So what’s going on here
in Romans chapter 9? Let’s continue to read. Why? Why is it that they did
not obtain the law of righteousness? Because they did not seek
it by faith, but as it were, by the
works of the law. What are the
works of the law? What can a law do? What can a law
accomplish for you? The law can show you what
righteousness is, right? Can it make you righteous? No, I mean it could teach
you what righteousness is and hopefully,
you’ll walk in it. But the law itself is
powerless to make you righteous. You can lead a person to
the law, but you can’t make them obey, right? So the works of the law
have to do with what the law is able to do. The faith is about what
faith is able to do.So it says, this is why
they didn’t seek it by
faith for they stumbled
they stumbled at that
stumbling stone.who is the
stumbling stone?
Yahushua the Messiah. As it is written behold
I lay in Zion a stumbling
stone and a rock of
offense and whoever
believes in him will
not be put to shame
. Right? So they did not seek that
righteousness by faith because they did not
believe in the messiah Yahushua. Who would be willing to
give them righteousness? Yahushua was the stumbling
stone that they stumbled over. They did not humble
themselves and say “I have been a sinner; I need the
messiah in order for me to be declared righteous”. They were given the law,
they thought that was the emd all. But you know the law only
serves one function and that one function is
to show us the way of righteousness. And it’s supposed to
lead us to Messiah. That’s its role, the law
can’t go … you know, some Torah scroll never
went up on the cross and died for you, right? So we need the word
Yahushua became flesh and dwelled among us. That living word to become
a man and die for us, right? So Yahushua is the
manifestation of keeping every single commandment
that was ever written that applied. because of his life
which he has given to us, Yahushua is saying, “here
is my life” If we receive his life we will put on
the robe of righteousness. It will no longer be
we who live; it will be Messiah living in us. And we will be cleansed
of all of our sins. So when Yahweh looks upon
us, he knows all of our yuck has been borne
by the husband, by the bridegroom, Yahushua
Ha Mashiach. So in spite of our own
sin, we being one with him, we’re able to be pure
and holy in this life. And that’s how we obtain
righteousness through him, not by our own works, not
by our own righteousness. But by the righteousness
that Yahweh placed in Yahushua the Messiah which
then comes down to us. As we become a
part of his body. But the only reason why
Messiah could even do that was because he did not
break a single commandment anywhere. And Yahweh’s
word and the law. So law serves the
function teaching us what righteousness is as it
says in 1 John 3:4 whoever commits sins transgresses
also the law from a sin is the transgression
of the law. So the law explains
to us what sin is. If we transgress the law
then we commit sin, right? Very simple,
nothing difficult. That’s the bottom line, in
fact, Romans 7:7 sayswhatshall we say then?Is the law sin?Certainly not.On the contrary, I would
not have known sin except
through the law.For I would not have known
covetousness unless the
law had said, “you
shall not covet”.
So the law teaches us
the difference between righteous ways and
unrighteous ways. The children of Israel
pursued that law of righteousness. But it could ever do, is
show them how they need to live. And by that show them how
rotten and wicked they were by not
living that way. And how they need
to live right. Now if our life gets
solely consisting of us just showing everyone
including ourselves how rotten and wicked
everything is, then maybe your attitude is wrong. Maybe we’re the ones being
you know lacking faith and trying to obtain
righteousness not looking at Messiah. but we want to be that
manifestation in Yahushua, We want to have that
spirit of grace flowing through us in our
conversations and our relationship with our
children, our relationship with our spouses, with
their friends, with our neighbors, with
our relatives. We want to speak of these
things and we want to be, you know it’s okay for us
to seek for righteousness as long as we
seek it by faith. And it goes in Romans
chapter 10 it says.Brethren my heart’s desire
and prayer to Elohim for
Israel is that
they must be saved.
For me bear them witness
that they have a zeal for
Elohim butnot
according to knowledge. For they being ignorant
of Elohim’s righteousness. Remember Yahushua said
“the works that I do my father does in me” right? He even said “why
do you call me good? There is one that’s good
Elohim.” Well, he let Elohim, Yahweh, and The
Father his righteousness dwell in him fully. So that he was able to
walk in righteousness. So through him, we are
righteous, all right? But they are ignorant if
Elohim’s righteousness through the righteousness
that’s in Yahushua. And seeking to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted to the
righteousness of Elohim. If you don’t have
Yahushua in you giving you righteousness, where is
it going to come from? It can’t come
from the law. The law isn’t going to
tell you you’re righteous, it’s gonna tell you;
you’re unrighteous. You’ve not kept the law. And so you need to go
to the only place where righteousness can
really be obtained. And that’s from Elohim,
from Yahweh through Yahushua the
Messiah, right? In Isaiah 45 verse 23
it says I have sworn by myself, the word has
gone out of my mouth in righteousness. That to me every knee
shall bow, every tongue shall takee an oath. He shall say what? Now pay attention; when
Yahweh swears he can’t swear by anyone greater. So he swears by
himself, right. When he swears an oath
look out, something significant is being
said or done, okay. He says“we will take an
He swore and we’re gonna take an oath also. Saying what? “Surely in Yahweh, I
have righteousness and strength”. In Yahweh I have
righteousness. In Yahweh I have strength. To him, man shall come and
all shall be ashamed who are incensed against him. In Yahweh, all the
descendants of Israel shall be justified. We’re justified, means
to be declared righteous. In Yahweh, all the
descendants of Israel shall be declared
righteous and shall glory. So only in Yahweh
do we glory, right? And so we’re going to say
because justification is not by our own
righteousness but by Yahweh’s righteousness
in Yahushua. We’re gonna say in Yahweh
I have righteousness and strength. Remember that because one
day you’re gonna take an oath and you’re
gonna say it, right? So only from Yahweh can
we obtain righteousness? Isaiah 54: 17“No weapon
formed against you shall
prosper, every tongue
which rises against you in
judgment you
shall condemn.
This is the heritage of
the servants of Yahweh and
their righteousness
is from me”.
That’s where we’re getting
righteousness; it’s from
Yahweh, that’s
where it comes from.
Not from ourselves,
but from Yahweh.
We did not clothe
ourselves with righteousness, he
clothed us, right? Isaiah 61 verse 10 Iwill
greatly rejoice in Yahweh,
my soul shall be
joyful in my Elohim.
For he has clothed me with
the garments of salvation.
He has covered me with
the robe of righteousness.
As a bridegroom decks
himself with ornaments and
as a bride adorns
herself with her jewels.
So Yahweh clothed us with
the garment of salvation, with the robe of
righteousness. He put it on you; we did
not put it on ourselves. He gave it to us and it’s
through Yahushua this is possible. Jeremiah 23 verses 5
through6 “behold the daysare coming “says Yahweh,
“that I will raise to
David a branch
of righteousness.
A king shall reign and
prosper and execute
judgment and righteousness
in the earth.
In his days Judah will be,
will be saved and Israel
will dwell safely. Now, this is his name by
which he will be called
YAHWEH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. This is talking about
the coming Messiah. Yahushua is called YAHWEH
TSIDKENU, Yahweh our righteousness because it’s
through him we are able to receive righteousness
from Yahweh. Beautiful, Hallelujah. Remember when Yahushua
was asked this question in Matthew 19:16one came to
him and said good teacher
what good thing shall I
do that I may have eternal
life?He said to him, why
do you call me good? Think about that, Yahushua
asked a question why do you call me good? No one is good
but one Elohim. Now, why would
Yahushua say that? Wasn’t he righteous
completely? He never failed one time. He is recognizing his
righteousness comes from Elohim, not from
even himself. It comes from Elohim. So this man Yahushua is
pointing this person who is asking the question,
this man who asked the question; that our
goodness can only come from Elohim and if we want
to enter eternal life, yeah keep the
commandments. All right any humble man
is gonna look at himself and says, “You know
what I have not kept the commandments perfectly,
I have messed up. There is only one who has
never messed up and that’s Yahushua, right? And Yahushua where did
he get his righteousness from? It came from Yahushua
because John 5:9 then Yahushua answered and said
to them,” Most assuredlyI say to you the son can
do nothing of himself, but
what he sees the father
do; for whatever he does
the son also do
in like manner.
John 14; 10 Do you not
believe I’m in the father
and the is father in me?The words that I speak to
you I do not speak on my
own authority, but the
father who dwells in me
does the works.That’s how we
need to be right? There is no righteousness
in me of myself it only comes from the father
who does the works in me. If Yahushua had to say
that, then I tell you what? You and I gotta
say it too. So even though we have
sinned, if we choose to accept Yahweh’s salvation,
Yahweh’s way of bringing us righteousness. Then we will have a
correct understanding. Just as Messiah says “It’s
not me who does the works, it’s the father
who dwells in me”. Says I have been
crucified with Messiah. This is what we say. It is no longer I who
live, but Messiah lives in me and the life which I
now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son
of Elohim, who loved me and gave himself for me. So if that’s true, it’s
messiah living in me and I don’t live anymore who
gets the glory for our righteousness? The heavenly father
Yahweh, from him comes our righteousness that was
imparted to him and through him to us and
that’s why Yahushua said “I am the way, the
truth and the life. No one comes to the father
except through me.” You can’t go anywhere with
Yahweh the father unless you go through Messiah. Only through him, if
you look in the prophets you’ll see Yahshua’s
personal, his testimony all over the place. That through him
righteousness come. So what Paul is promoting
here is not something that Paul made up on his own,
it’s been there all along in the Old Testament
the prophets. But the mindset today is
in a sad status but you know, the mindset a lot
of people have today is, ” well you know, I’ve done
some bad things but I’ve tried to make up for it
and do some good things. So hopefully you know
my good will outweigh my bad.” So maybe he’ll
me in the backdoor or something.” Well if you did nothing
but a good 100% good your entire life but you broke
one command one time you just broke one. Then you know what you’re
no longer reflecting the image and glory of Elohim. You’re no longer able
to save yourself. You have failed and fallen
short of the glory of Yahweh. And you have no hope in
your own righteousness because of that one
blot on your record. All those commandments
you kept, doesn’t make one bit of
difference. If you only broke one
you’re not reflecting yahweh’s perfect image. You’re now labelled a
transgressor unworthy to even dwell in
Yahweh’s presence. So I mean how many sins
did it take Adam to be kicked out of the garden? Just one. So it just takes one, so
if we’re going to seek righteousness we need
to seek it by faith. It’s not our own
righteousness; it’s faith in Yahweh he’s going to
bring us righteousness like he said he would. And that’s the humble
way of approaching him. That’s the way he wants,
he wants that humility, and he wants us to seek
righteousness by faith. And so when Paul is
speaking here in Romans 10 he is saying,Brethren my
heart’s desire and prayer
to Elohim for Israel is
that they may be saved.
For I bear them witness
that they have a zeal for
Elohim, but not
according to knowledge.
For they being ignorant
of Elohim’s righteousness,
and seeking to establish
their own righteousness,
have not submitted to the
righteousness of Elohim.
They didn’t know, they
didn’t understand. So have mercy on your
Jewish brothers, they are ignorant of Elohim’s
righteousness and now some of us are ignorant
too of these things. But we can’t make
ourselves righteous, we can only seek to make
ourselves more and more like Yahushua every day
we’re never perfect except for his grace. For Messiah is the end of
the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. In other words, we are no
longer going to rely upon the law of Yahweh to
give us righteousness. Because the Messiah came
then ended that whole mentality. We don’t go to the law
to make us righteous. We go to the throne of
Yahweh begging for mercy and for forgiveness. They might give us
righteousness through the death, burial, and
resurrection of Yahushua the Messiah. So if we were to look at
the law for righteousness what would happen? There would be one thing
that you did wrong, you messed up somewhere and
it will condemn you. Now for most of us, many
things will condemn you, right? But you know if it
was only one you would immediately
be condemned. So if you’re looking to
the laws to save you, what’s gonna happen is
that the law is only gonna condemn you. So we can’t establish our
own righteousness we need the righteousness that
comes through Yahushua the Messiah. Remember we’re gonna
say“in Yahweh, I haverighteousness and
strength, in Yahweh, we’ll
be justified”Now scripture also says
“he who endures to the end
will be saved”. He who endure to the
end will be saved. Are we willing to
endure to the end? That means that we’re
going to maintain our faith in the Messiah
Yahushua, we’re going to continue to walk out this
faith in righteousness through the power
of Yahushua in us. That’s an
important question. I wanna point something
out, that; if we’re trying to establish our own
righteousness through that effort, we’re still
making a mistake. If we’re trying by our own
personal power to be saved by our own personal
righteousness and effort to walk in righteousness
we’re going to fail. Isaiah 59says truth fails
and he who departs from
evil makes himself a prey. When Yahweh saw it, it
displeased him that there
was no justice. He saw that there was
no man and wondered that
there was no intercessor;
therefore his own arm
brought salvation for him
and his own righteousness,
it sustained him. Yahushua the intercessor. And this is why it says
who has believed our
report. To whom has the arm of
Yahweh been revealed?
For he shall grow before
him as a tender plant, as
a root out of dry ground. He has no form or
comeliness and when we see
him there is no beauty
that we should desire him.
He is despised and
rejected by men.
A man of sorrows and
acquainted with grief and
we hid as it were
our faces from him.
He was despised and
we did not esteem him.
Surely he has borne our
griefs and carried our
sorrows yet ewe esteemed
him stricken, smitten by
Elohim and afflicted.Clearly, this is Yahushua
all over the prophets. This is what we need to
be teaching our Jewish brothers. So that they are not
ignorant of Elohim’s righteousness. So it’s only through him
we can receive this peace and eternal life, and
there is no peace until we are at peace
with our creator. The creator of all things. We have to be at peace
with him before we are able to be at peace at
all, without him, we’re not gonna have the peace. Without him, we’re just
wicked, filthy, rotten sinners in his sight and
we will be among those who awake to shame and
everlasting contempt. But Yahushua bore
our shame and made us righteous, right? So we’ve got to seek
Yahweh in these matters. Yes, Messiah is the end
of the law, but not saying you don’t have to
do the law anymore. He’s saying he is the
end of the law for righteousness. Now I know some people
believe this word telos means like the
goal. But the same scripture
that says end here also is translated and….
looking for it. Here same word he who
endures to the end will be saved. Same exact word
in there, Greek. So I don’t believe this
means {inaudible 0:42:39] I think it’s talking
about the end. So Yahushua is the end of
the law for righteousness, that’s what he is teaching
here in context, that’s what he is teaching. So for the most Moses
writes about the righteousness of the law. In the law it says, “The
man who does those things shall live, that means
to have eternal life by them”… we’ll have we
done these things? Have we done things
that the law says? No, we haven’t. So can we have
eternal life by them? No, we can’t. So our only hope is
Messiah, Yahushua the Messiah, that’s
our only hope. Because scripture says,
you shall, therefore, my statutes and my judgments
which if a man does, he shall live by them. Have we kept his statutes
and commandments? We fail; we’ve all
failed at some point. So we haven’t done them
and so we can’t live by them. We can’t have eternal life
by them we need a savior. In the beginning was the
word, and the word was Elohim. John1:1. And the word became flesh
and dwelled among us and we beheld his glory, the
glory as the only begotten of the father, full
of grace and truth. Beautiful. Yahushua is the living
word; he came down and dwelled among us. Revelation 18:11 through
13Now I saw heaven openedand behold a white horse
and he who sat on him was
called faithful and true
and in righteousness, he
judges and makes war.His eyes were like a flame
of fire and on his head
were many crowns. He had a name written
that no one knew except
himself. He was clothed with a robe
dipped in blood and his
name is called the
word of Elohim.
That’s Yahushua
the Messiah. So if we welcome Messiah
into our hearts, what happens? Remember he is not just
the word in the book of John; he is the word
in the book of Hebrews, Revelation, and
Deuteronomy, Leviticus, Numbers, Exodus. All of It.,
that’s Yahushua. If you despise any part
of the word of Yahweh, you also despise Yahushua
who is the living word of Yahweh, right? So if I was to love
the law, I would love Yahushua, who is the
word that became flesh. That law that became flesh
and dwelled among us. If I’m loving the law I’m
loving something that is describing the life of
Yahshua the Messiah. You ever heard the
statement that “your neighbor may be the only
bible that you read”? If we live out that word
as Yahushua lived out that word, he can live out
that word through us. Then we can be the word
also, a manifestation of the word anyway. This is Yahushua as a
manifestation of the word. And so the law of Yahweh
this in our hearts is going to reflect therefore
in the outer layer, right? Absolutely. So looking again at Romans
10,but the righteous offaith speaks in this way.Do not say in your heart
“who will ascend to
heaven” that is to bring
Messiah down from above.
But what does it say, the
word that’s Messiah is
near you, your mouth and
in your heart” That’s the
word of faith
which we preach.
He is talking
about the Torah. He does speak of the
Torah, the law of Yahweh. For this commandment which
I command you today is not too mysterious for
you, nor is it far off. Deuteronomy 30 verse 11.It is not in the heaven
that you should say “who
will ascend into heaven
for us and bring it to us,
that we may hear
it and do it?”
Nor is it beyond the sea
that you should say “who
will go over the sea for
us and bring it to us that
we may hear it and do it?”.But the word is very near
you, in your mouth and in
your heart that
you may do it.
That’s what it says. So what Paul ids quoted
from this verse you know, it’s not in heaven, it’s
not beyond the sea or in the grave. You don’t say “who will we
send to heaven to bring it down?” Yahushua is herein our
mouth, in our heart, the word became flesh
and dwelled among us. What a beautiful thing. So he is called the living
word of Yahweh for a reason. And now we are a part of
his body and so we are going to live as he did. The promise of the new
covenant is that the law would be in our
hearts, right? But look at what
happened here. The law was sin their
heart too, in your mouth, in your heart. Yahushua was there, they
just didn’t know that he died for them and all of
the things that we know. But he was there,
he was there. and He promises that
the word that Yahushua the messiah will be in
our hearts, right? He is the living word. So if the word is in our
hearts it should reflect that it is in our hearts. Because when it is in our
heart, it enables us to do it. We’re not slaves
to sin anymore. Now I’m spending this time
explaining this from the Old Testament and the New
Testament to show how they come together and speak
one message on this whole area. There wasn’t a different
idea in the Old Testament and a brand new
idea in the New. It has always
been this way. I want us to be able to
thoroughly address the idea of you know Old
Testament versus New Testament. And I also want to
completely annihilate the idea that once saved
always saved in the sense of once you’ve made that
confession you can live how you want. Or this idea where you
might as well live a life of sin anyway because
you know, it’s the righteousness of Yahweh
that makes you righteous. So all the other people
saying that we’re saved if you do this, if you join
my church and whatever, then you’re gonna be saved
and all this mambo Jumbo. Different ideas, different
paths, different ways of getting to eternal life
that are not Yahweh’s ways. So now there are certain
people he’s gonna give righteousness to and
certain people he’s not gonna give
righteousness too. Yahushua blood
is precious. It is, it’s precious and
you don’t just trample on it. You don’t just treat it
like it’s a common thing. And so what Yahweh does
require of all of us is repentance. Acts 2:38 Peter said to
them,”repent and letevery one of you be
baptized in the name of
Yahushua Messiah for the
remission of sins; and you
shall receive the gift
of the holy spirit.
So it’s conditional,
repentance and faith in Yahushua with an act of
faith in baptism here being manifested, right? Absolutely. So we do these things, we
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and
that’s why Paul said. Acts 26 he said,I was
not disobedient to the
heavenly vision”.king Agrippa
declared first to those in
Damascus and in Jerusalem
and throughout all of the
regions of Judea and then
to the Gentiles that they
should repent, turn
to Elohim and do works
befitting repentance.So your works must
match your faith. That’s what he taught
those Gentiles he was converting. If you don’t have any
kind of works at all to demonstrate your
repentance and your faith, you have no faith. It doesn’t exist. It will be like saying
you know,” I have faith, I have faith that there is
pens in my hand, okay” but then there is
nothing there. You look at it I got
faith and there is nothing there. Okay, I have faith in
the messiah but there is nothing there to show
that there is any faith in messiah. There is no act of
evidence that messiah is dwelling in your heart. Because you are not
willing to repent. So you can claim the pen
is there in your hand but it’s not. Unless it’s being
manifested in some capacity, right? So faith has to be
real, it can’t be fake. You can’t just say it with
a bunch of words, I mean even the demons believe
but they tremble this in their belief of
who he is, right? So, Romans, 6
verse one says. What shall we say then?Shall we continue in sin,
just go on sinning like
you were before?May that grace abound?Certainly not.The strongest possible
objection in the Greek language right there. How shall we, how shall
we, how shall we, how can you claim that, how can
someone that died to sin, live in it? It doesn’t make any sense,
you died to sin but you live in it? You can’t do that, you
can’t live and not … It doesn’t make any sense. So if Yahushua is
implanted into your hearts you’re not going to
intentionally just live in sin, like “Okay whatever
I’ll go on with my sinning like I was before”. Where is Yahushua at? You say you believe
in him, where is he? I don’t see him, right? You understand what
his commanding here? So now think about it. Yahushua was born through
Mary, he grew up, he healed, and he bore
everybody’s sickness, diseases, and sins and
ultimately bore the sin of the entire world by being
tortured and maimed and killed. And he went through
all of that, why? Because we sinned, right? That’s why he went
through it all. And to think that you
can go back and continue living in sin like
you were before. Well, isn’t that why
Yahushua came here, to solve that problem? Did he go through all that
to deliver you from that lifestyle so that
you could just go on continuing in
that lifestyle? That’s slapping
him in the face. It was for that reason he
died in the first place because you were
living in sin. And so you needed
to be cleansed. So if you’re approaching
obedience with this kind of humdrum “oh well, I’m
a sinner anyways and I’m saved by grace”. Yahushua is not living
with that kind of attitude, he wants
to see repentance. Yahushua never had that
attitude, never did. 1 John 2:3 says nowby
this we know that we know
him if we keep
his commandments.
that’s how you
know we know him.
He who says “I know him”
and does not keep his
commandments is a liar and
the truth is not in him.
Sorry, you can claim
that you know him, but if you’re not manifesting any
kind of works with that faith you’re lying,
you’re telling a lie. You’re saying you know
when really you don’t. But whoever keeps his
word, truly the love of Elohim is
perfected in him. By this, we know
that we are in him. That’s how you know. He who says he abides in
him ought himself to walk just as he walked. How did he walk? How did he live? I love asking
that question? The law of Yahweh is
in our hearts, right? Yahushua is dwelling
there, right? Did he keep the
law of Yahweh? yes, he did. That’s why he can be
called the word of Yahweh as it was
written. and so that word of Yahweh
is now written in our hearts and he lives in
us and so he is the same yesterday, today and
forever last I checked. He has not changed. Yahushua the Messiah is
the same yesterday, today and forever isn’t that
what scripture says? He keeps the Torah today,
he will keep the Torah now in you and we all keeping
the Torah forever in him right? So he is the
same yesterday. In fact, that will be
standard in the age to come. a thousand year reign
where it says in Isaiah that you know the mountain
of Yahweh’s house will be established on
top of the mountain and all nations will float it
and they will hear the law of Yahweh and it will
be a grandiose wonderful utopian world you
live in, right? Because the whole world is
walking out faith and it will be his. And yet some people think”
well you know we got the spirit now, everything is
in the spiritual now” and that translates to a
freedom to disobey what Yahweh told us to do. Brothers the spirit
does not lead us to disobedience. The spirit does not
comfort us in our disobedience when that
disobedience is willful. The spirit does not give
us the green light to willfully transgress
everything that Yahweh has said and the law. In fact, Yahweh has
predicted in the prophets s Ezekiel 36:27I will put
my spirit within you and
cause you to walk in my
statutes and you will keep
my judgments and do them. The Holy Spirit when it
comes in Yahushua’s name, his spirit, his word, his
righteousness will come into our hearts and
manifest itself through our example. And so when Yahweh
predicts the future here in the prophets, he is
predicting that he will place his spirit in
his people what’s gonna happen? We’re gonna walk out his
statutes, we’re going to keep his judgments and
we’re going to do them. The spirit of Yahweh
does not lead you to disobedience to what the
word says and the statutes teach us. It leads you to obedience. The spirit of Yahweh
reminds you of the life of Yahushua the Messiah,
the word of Elohim. He is the word of Elohim
in the Old Testament and the New Testament. But there is a spirit out
there in the world today that’s gonna tell you
“it’s okay to disregard the law”. But that is, not
Yahweh’s spirit. Yahweh’s spirit causes you
to walk in his statutes by the strength that comes
from Yahweh alone. There is a spirit out
there telling you like the same one in the garden
“you can partake of the fruit and you will
not surely die. You can disobey the word
and you will not surely die.” That’s, not
Yahweh’s spirit. Yahweh’s spirit is leading
you to obedience, to his statutes. If you that attitude and
spirit about you, there is something wrong. You’re not saved by
your own obedience. What I’m saying is, how
can the law be in your heart when you reject it? How can the law be in your
heart if you’re telling everybody it’s
done away with? How can the spirit be
dwelling and you’re speaking the words,
disobey the father’s commands it’s okay? It’s all done away with
now, when we read very plainly the spirit leads
you to righteousness, to keeping the commandments
and statutes of Yahweh. You see there is not
this Old Testament in one corner and New Testament
in the other duking it out. It’s all one
message, one message. And the idea that, it’s
not the same message is really a damnable doctrine. It’s not founded
in the bible. It turns Yahweh into a
Jekyll and Hyde character. It’s set up by the enemy
to try to get people to believe that old
lie in the garden. “You will not surely die. You can disobey the
commands you will not surely die.” So to try to
encourage people to sin against Yahweh by telling
them “you can do what you want and still
make it in”. I’m not saying that works
are gonna save anybody, but just as we need to
shed ourselves of this mindset that the New
Testament brings us radical change, that all
you gotta do is mumble a few words in a prayer and
everything is okay after that. That’s not the way it
works buddy, not at all. But you know faith and
justification by faith is actually an Old
Testament idea? It really is. Scripture says in Habakkuk
chapter 2 verse4 beholdthe proud. His soul is not
upright in him.
The proud one does not
have the upright soul, that’s what we’re
reading here, right? But the just that means
the righteous shall live that means to have
eternal life by his faith. So we obtain eternal life
not by our works, even in the Old Testament
here but by faith. Otherwise, we’re proud and
we’re saying “well, we by our own righteousness
are good enough”. well, the one who says
that his soul is not upright in Yahweh. But the just, that means
the righteous will live, have eternal
life, by faith. The very important
principle here. Paul quotes this verse a
number of times for that reason. So if we’re humble and not
proud, we’re saved only by my faith in Yahweh’s
righteousness and my able to be just in
righteousness. It’s Old
Testament concept. We were upright, we needed
to be upright, we needed to be righteous, we needed
to be just and we receive that by faith. David understood it;
many Old Testament men understood it. It’s just the Scribes and
Pharisees that had the hardest time with it. Because they really wanted
to establish their own righteousness. And their false doctrine
causes many in Israel to turn away from Yahushua
and it’s that way very similar that way
even to this day. We have many scribes and
Pharisees trying to put man’s theology into the
bible that would say “oh we can turn away from
Messiah and still make it”. Now you may not think
that, but isn’t Yahushua the word? Isn’t the word Yahushua? Isn’t the word part
of the Old Testament? That’s turning away
from Messiah also. If you’re turning away
from the word of Yahweh saying “it doesn’t mean
anything to me, I don’t have to do anything
like that”. In a sense, you’re
turning away from Messiah. Now I’m not saying I
think you’re ignorant when you’re doing that, that
you’re lost and going to hell. I’m just saying what
Yahushua is saying, he wants to bear fruit
through you, and he wants to bear fruit. He says to abide in me. John 15:4if you abide
in him you’re going to do
what he did.Abide in me and I in you
as the branch can not bear
the fruit of itself unless
it abides in the vine
neither can you unless
you abide in me.
It’s a completely false
premise that only now in the New Testament that
we understand grace. The Old Testament,
they understood grace. You could find very
harsh things in the New Testament. 1 Corinthians 6: 9 through
10 6 verse 9, in fact, the New Testament talks a
whole lot of more about the lake of fire and
damnation than the Old Testament does. It says do you not know
the unrighteous will not inherit the
kingdom of Elohim? Do not be deceived,
neither fornications nor idolaters, not alterers
nor homosexuals nor sodomites. Nor thieves, nor covetous,
nor drunkards nor revilers nor extortionist ill
inherit the kingdom of Elohim. All you have to do is be
one who reviles others. Be a reviler and goodbye. covetors out the
door there you go. I didn’t write the
mail here, this is New Testament stuff. I am explaining to you
this idea that all the condemnation comes from
the Old Testament and the New Testament as about
grace and love and cream puffs and powder
doughnuts. Wrong. Not at all, here
is another one. Galatians 5: 19 to 21now
the works of the flesh are
evident which adultery,
fornication, uncleanliness
are.lewdness , idolatry,
sorcery , hatred,
contentions, jealousies,
outburst of wrath, selfish
ambitions , dissensions
, heresies, envy murders,
drunkenness and revelries
and the like of which I
tell you beforehand just
as I also told you in time
past, that those who
practice such things swill
not inherit the
kingdom of Elohim
. All you gotta do is
practice contentions, Just practice arguing. Out, you are no more, that’s it, see you late you’re
not a believer. Practice outbursts of
wrath, wooo is that you is that your practice? Getting better at it
every time, improving your ability to practice these
things like a guy you know playing basketball and it
gets better and better and pretty soon he is a really
good basketball player. Some people are really
good at arguing and fighting and contentions
and jealousies and selfish ambitions and outbursts of
wrath and they are getting able to handle more
alcohol now without getting drunk. Getting better
and better at it. Look I know this is
serious words, real serious words. I knew you know these
things already, but this idea of condemnation
stuff comes from the Old Testament and the New
Testament is all grace and love and fluffy clouds and
people playing on harps and floating in heaven
and everything is just blessed. Nope read your bible, you
will find out different. But you know these are
really issues of the first century, these the main
issues people were dealing with and the main sins
Satan was trying to get victory over
people’s lives. And still many of these
things still are to this day. Now men act like they are
the only ones that they have to deal with. But there is
Elohim in heaven. He’s gonna have
to deal with us. You know it wouldn’t be
too hard to find a Sabbath keeper in the
first century. You know I would imagine
you could check almost every sermon in America on
the first day of the week. The world calls
Sunday, Sunday church. How many of them will be
giving a sermon on you need to go to
church on Sunday? How many would be
preaching that? Not very many, very rare. And so why? Because we are
already there. You know. When Paul went to the
synagogue he didn’t has to go beat them over their
heads and say go to Synagogue on Sabbath. He did it “hey you’ve
gotta keep the Sabbath” they’re already there. Gentiles and Jews in the
synagogues on Sabbath, right? So not just the things we
read about in Galatians, Ephesians and other things
but you know you’ve got to abide in Messiah. But fornication and
all uncleanliness or
covetousness let it not
even be named among you as
is fitting the saints.Neither filthiness nor
false talking, no coarse
jesting which are not
fitting, but rather giving
of thanks. For this, you know that no
fornicator, unclean person
nor covetous man who
is an idolater has any
inheritance in the kingdom
of Messiah and Elohim
. Wooo, harsh words. harsh, harsh words, in the
New Testament scripture, right? So what did Yahushua say? “If anyone that’s not
abiding in me, he is cast out as a branch
and it’s withered. And they gather them and
throw them into the fire and they are burned. “Now since we’re already
in the vine; our words will match a vine our
faith in heart are truly sincere. Then we will
continue to abide. Now if you fail, if you
make a mistake and you sin we do have grace
available to us. You know even the
children of Israel. When they were in the
wilderness they tested Yahweh multiple times and
he forgave them again and again and again. It was only when they
wanted to reject Moshe and appoint a captain to take
them back to Egypt and their direction went from
toward the promise land and instead we’re
going back to Egypt. The trajectory went the
opposite direction of repentance. And they rejected the
Messiah-like figure in Moses and they want
to appoint a different captain to take them
back, then he finally say” no more”. This generation
will not enter in. So the same is
true for us. This grace is the same. If you no longer walk
out and seek to live independent to your
trajectory is going to repent as you decide not
to repent anymore and not to continue that walk of
repentance that means if you fail, yes he’ll
forgive you, but get up and keep moving. But if you start going
the opposite direction rejecting Yahushua and
going back to Egypt. And that’s the trajectory
that you’re heading, that’ where you’re losing
your salvation. You no longer have
repentance or faith in Messiah Yahushua. Now, the truth is if you
say you have no sin … It says we deceive ourselves
if we say we have no sin and the truth
is not in us. That’s because even
if you’re overcoming everything that you know
to do to overcome, there are still going that
things that you’re gonna continue to show you that
are not right in your heart. They are not completely,
exactly matched with the messiah Yahushua. So when we find this thing
out, we completely and he’s faithful and just
to forgive us our sins. And to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness because our heart is directed
toward faith in messiah Yahushua and we’re
walking in righteousness. So you know, even
if you’re overcoming everything you know to
overcome, you’re not perfect yet and you will
never be perfect until Yahushua is completely,
fully in you and a new body and so on. So he is willing to
offer us forgiveness. We must confess our sins,
acknowledge that we have done wrong and we have
sinned against him. Trust in his mercy and do
not, do not look back, but press on toward the goal. We all have weaknesses,
we all have areas that we messed up and we fail,
we make mistakes. We all have old habits
we’re trying to change. We may fail in temptation;
we may end up being involved in some
kind of thing. But what does
righteous men do? Although a righteous man
may fall seven times, he gets back up again and
he keeps on walking. Scripture says it. We don’t lay there; we
don’t wallow in it like a pig going back to swine. We get up we stop, we get
back up and we keep on going. And so our works matter. We’re not an empty
branch with no fruit. Otherwise, the Messiah
will cut off the branch and throw it in the fire;
we gotta be bearing some kind of fruit. Some kind of evidence
of our faith, a working faith, a living faith. When Yahushua appeared
to John in the book of Revelation; he told John
to write down the things he’s saying. He told John to write
down some of the words of exaltation to the seven
congregations in Asia. I want you to notice
something he said repeatedly. Revelation chapter 2 verse
2 Iknow your works, yourlabor, your patience and
that you cannot bear those
who are evil. And you have tested those
who say they are apostles
and are not and have
found them, liars.
What did he say? I know your works. Here in the letter to the
assembly of Smyrna, hesays I know your works,
your tribulation, and
poverty but you are rich. And I know the blasphemy
of those who say they are
Jews and are not but are
a Synagogue of Satan.
He writes to the Pergamos
assembly he says,I knowyour works and where
you dwell, where Satan’s
throne is.And you hold fast to my
name and did not deny m
faith even in the days
in which Antipas was my
faithful martyr who
was killed among you.
Where Satan dwells. To another congregation,
I know your works, love,
service, faith and your
patience and as for your
works, the last are
more than the first.
Works, works, works. Why? Revelation 3:1to the
angel of the assembly in
Sardis write,”These things
says he who has seen
spirits of Elohim
and the seven starts.
I know your works, that
you have a name that you
are alive but you are
Revelation 3; 8Iknow your works.See I have set before you
an open door and no one
can shut it for you have a
little strength, have kept
my word and have
not denied my name.
I know your works.The Philadelphian
assembly there. Laodicea,I know your
works that you are neither
cold nor hot.I could wish you
were cold or hot.
So then because you are
lukewarm and neither cold
nor hot I will vomit
you out of my mouth.
Separate you
from his body. So to sum that
up; he says; Ø To Ephesus: “I
know your works”. Ø To Smyrna: “I
know your works”. Ø To Pergamos: “I
know your works”. Ø To Thyatira: “I
know your works”. Ø To Sardis: “I
know your works”. Ø To Philadelphia:
“I know your works”. Ø To Laodicea: “I
know your works”. To all seven of them, he
says this, “I know your works”. Ø To Ephesus he says
“repent and do the first works or else I will come
to you quickly and remove your lampstand. Ø To Smyrna, he says “Be
faithful until death and I will give you the
crown of life”. Ø To Pergamos he says
“repent or else I will come to you quickly and
will fight against them with the sword
of my mouth”. Ø To Thyatira, he says “I
will kill her (Jezebel’s) children with death and
all the congregations shall know that I am he
who searches the minds and hearts and I will give to
each one of you according to your works”. Ø To Sardis, he says “if
you will not watch he says, I will come upon you
as a thief and you will not know what hour I
will come upon you “. Ø To Philadelphia, he says
“hold fast what you have that no one may
take your crown”. Ø To Laodicea, he says
“because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot,
I will vomit you out of my mouth “. You suppose he is a little
concerned about our works? Just you know thought
that out there. It seems like he’s got you
know a slight concern with that here being a
little sarcastic. I think he’s really
concerned about our works, yeah. I think he is. I think our works matter
to him quite a bit. I mean he said it to all
seven of them, “I know your works” and he goes on
tells them what they are doing, whether the
good bad or ugly. Right? Titus chapter 3 verse 8
saysthis is a faithfulsaying and these things
I want you to affirm
constantly, that those who
have believed in Elohim
should be careful, careful
to maintain good works.
These things are good
and profitable to men.
Is it wrong to affirm it
constantly that we need to have good works? In some circles today,
they will accuse of being a legalist because you
affirm that constantly. That means all the time,
talking about how works need to be pleasing to
Elohim, nothing wrong with that. So what’s the conclusion? We’re not saved by our
works, no doubt about it. However we are saved by a
faith that works, right? James 2 verse 14 says. What does it profit my
brethren if someone says
he has faith but
does not have works?
Can faith save him?If a brother or sister
is naked and destitute of
daily food. And one of you says to
them: “depart in peace, be
warmed and filled”, but
you do not give them the
things which are
neither for the body.
What does it profit? Thus also faith by itself,
if it does not have works is dead, a dead faith. Not a real, living
faith, a dead faith. But someone will say,”
You have faith and I have worked.” Show me your
faith without your works and I will show you
my faith by my works. “You believe there is one
Elohim, you do well even the demons believe
and tremble. Why aren’t you trembling? But do you want to know
O foolish man that faith without works are dead? Was not Abraham our father
justified by works when he offered Isaac his
son on the altar? Do you see that faith was
working together with his works and by works,
faith was made perfect? Hallelujah, absolutely. And the scripture was
fulfilled which said Abraham believed Elohim
and it was accounted to him for righteousness and
he was called the friend of Elohim. You see then that a man is
justified that means to be declared righteous by
works and not by faith only. It’s true works
demonstrate faith our faith needs to work. Likewise was not Bahab the
harlot also justifies by works when she received
the messengers and sent them out another way? For this body without the
spirit is dead, so faith is dead also. It is dead, you say it’s
faith, there is no life in it. No life in it whatsoever. Some say well the faith is
one oar and works are the other oar and you gotta
work both together to get moving forward. The very popular analogy
in our movement today. But the boat is not
propelled by one oar marked faith and one
oar marked works. Both oars are marked faith
and faith propel the boat causing it to work. It’s faith that cause
works to come forth. That’s why faith
must be alive. A living faith will work. Works will not save you. A living faith will. True faith would never
say works are unnecessary whether it be honoring our
parents or refraining from lust or keeping the
feast days clean/unclean commands, each are
demonstrations of TRUE FAITH. Each if kept while
understanding Messiah is our salvation
are important. It’s all important. So the bottom
line is this; Trust in Messiah for
Salvation of your soul that he might
dwell in you. Then since he does well in
you, you will walk as he walked. BY FAITH. By faith. How did he walk? He honored his parents,
refrained from lust, kept the least days,
sabbath and kept clean? Unclean commandments well. He refrained from lust,
kept the feast days Sabbath and kept
clean/unclean commands as well. That’s all walking
as Yahushua walked. That’s Messiah
Yahushua right there. So we would; what would
Yahushua do if he is in you if his righteousness
is in you if his spirit is in you causing you to
walk in his statutes and judgments? There is a need for as
a demonstration of faith that we would have a
living faith and walk out the Torah. Revelation 14:12 here
is the patience of the saints; here are
those who what? Have a living faith,
keeping the commandments of Elohim and the
faith of Yahushua. Ø Judaism says we’ll
keep the commandments but forget about the
faith of Yahushua. Ø Traditional Christianity
says we will keep the faith of Yahshua,
but there is certain commandments we’re
going to have to reject. They are abolished now. And so let’s say
we’re gonna keep the commandments and the
faith of Yahushua both.Blessed are those who
hunger and thirst for
righteousness for
they shall be filled.
hallelujah. Do you hunger and thirst
for righteousness? Yahweh will fill you in
two ways; number one he will fill you with
righteousness when he places his righteousness
in you as your faith in Yahushua and thereby
obtaining and being filled righteousness through
Yahushua the Messiah. If you hunger and thirst
for righteousness then you will want to walk in
righteousness and he will lead you to the righteous
way of life and therefore he will fill you. As simple as that. So in contrary to popular
belief do we make void the law through faith? Certainly not,
absolutely not. On the contrary, we
establish the law, we don’t make a void. We establish it. I wanna look at these
words as I often do the translated make void means
to render idle, unemploy, inactive, inoperative. Isn’t that what they
say the law is nowadays? No further efficiency, no
longer having any force or power. it’s ceased, you
put an end to out. He did away it, you
anull it, you abolish it, you ceased,
it’s passed away no, it’s does away with We’re
severed from, separated from discharged from
loosened from.Terimnate all under sought. He says certainly
not, absolutely not. You’re wrong on the
contrary we caused the law to be established. What does that word mean? histemi to cause or make to stand, to put
and set in place. So we have mased it
firmly, fixed it’s kept its place. Its purpose is intact
Nothing has changed, it’s intact. Do we believe that? What are are we
doing with it? Are we establishing
it by our faith? How do we establish
it by our faith? . We establish it because
we’re declaring first of all Yahweh’s law is the
standard by which we’re supposed to live. It doesn’t save us; it
didn’t die on a tree for us. We can’t be saved by our
own works or ability to be obedient to be in
is not the issue. We’re saving by faith in
Messiah Yahushua, with that living faith we’ll
be real, real faith. That manifests a life, a
growth and a knowledge and obedience to our master
Yahshua the Messiah. So it’s going to
stand in two ways. We’re saying this is the
right way to live and by that, we’re pointing out
the people who need to turn away from
unrighteousness that’s Torah breaking, law
breaking and turn toward righteousness,
law keeping. We’re declaring because
that’s true we need the savior to redeem us and
cleanse us from all of our sins. And the law is established
by your faith not made void. Psalm 119 verse 26 and
I canagree with thispsalmist from the
bottom of my heart.
It is time for you to act
O Yahweh, for they have
regarded your law as void.Let’s pray O Yahweh indeed they have
regarded your law as void. I pray after Yahweh that
you would act and lead people to the way of
righteousness found in the example of Yahushua the
Messiah, That they would forsake this idea that
once we receive the Messiah Yahushua that
all we need to is just continue to believe he is
the messiah and we don’t have to concern ourselves
with obedience at all. Cause people to forsake
that understanding. I know that once you save
us in the age to come and we put on this new body,
this incorruptible body that you have given. I know father Yahweh then
we will truly be saved and then we will
always be saved. But father I pray you
would take the blindness away from people’s eyes,
take off the blindfold, help them to see wondrous
things out of your law. And that the rest of
scripture, not just the New Testament portion
they have labeled for themselves the new testement is applicable today. But every word that comes
out of your mouth is applicable today. Establish your
kingdom on the earth. Let your will truly be
done on the earth, in our hearts and our lives
as it is in heaven. For truly yours is the
kingdom, the power and glory, and majesty
forever and ever. And all praise honor and
worship belong to you Yahweh Elohim, Yahweh our
righteousness forever and ever In Yahushua’s
great name we pray. Amen and HalleluYah. END
