Julius Kim | What Christian Book (Other Than the Bible) Would You Give to a Skeptic?

– [Julius Kim] It’s hard to choose one
book that I would give to a skeptic or a non-believer regarding Christianity. But perhaps the one that was
most profoundly beneficial to me when I was a young Christian was
the bookKnowing Godby J. I. Packer. In fact, when I first read the book,
I couldn’t even put it down. I read it actually through the night. Because in it, J. I. Packer introduced
me, not only to the truth of who God is and what he’s done for me in Jesus,
but the beauty of who God is and what he’s done for me in Jesus because that’s exactly
what Christianity is about. It’s about the truth and
the beauty of the gospel, the good news of what Jesus
has done for us and for our sins. And so the one book that I would
give to skeptics and non-believers would beKnowing God
by J. I. Packer.

  1. I've only seen a couple of videos from this series thus far and I am really enjoying them! I can't wait to see what other kinds of videos in this series will speak to my soul like these ones have! Thanks & God bless.

  2. I read Knowing God. It is a book for believers. It is not an apologetic tool. I am unsure why this book would convince me to believe a god exists. You are unlikely convince a good skeptic (a person with strong epistemological tools) that a god exists. We actually require evidence, not rhetoric.

  3. Knowing God is a great book for new Christians but I would recommend "The Reason for God" by Tim Keller to anyone who's a skeptic.
